Vigilance Awareness Campaign at CMFRI Kochi

The ICAR-Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute (CMFRI) conducted the Vigilance Awareness Campaign aligning with the national theme 'Culture of Integrity for Nation's Prosperity. The campaign, which successfully engaged the public, educated the youth, and inspired a culture of integrity, involved a series of engaging activities, including awareness lectures, flash mobs, outreach programme and competitions.

One of the highlights of the campaign was a captivating flash mob performed at the Queens Walkway in Ernakulam city, Kerala. This innovative approach effectively reached out to the younger generation, spreading awareness about the importance of integrity, ethical practices and responsibility in life to create a corruption-free society. The event evoked overwhelming response from the public.

Recognizing the importance of early education, ICAR-CMFRI extended its outreach to Govt. Vocational Higher Secondary School in Kadamakudy, an island village in Ernakulam. Students participated in poster designing and pencil drawing competitions, showcasing their creativity and understanding of the campaign's theme. Awareness lectures were also conducted to inspire young minds, shedding light on truthfulness, ethical practices

ICAR-CMFRI also organised an insightful lectures on legal aspects of cyber space emphasising integrity and vigilance in digital environments. The session focused on regulatory measures, data protection, and the legal complexities of cyber threats, underscoring the urgent need for cybersecurity awareness and literacy.

To enhance engagement, ICAR-CMFRI conducted a reel-making competition and a quiz for the staff. The reel-making competition garnered significant enthusiasm, effectively spreading awareness about the campaign across the institute. Additionally, the quiz further deepened understanding of the campaign's theme.

The valedictory function held on 28th November 2024 emphasised the need to promote integrity, transparency, accountability, and ethical practices among citizens. Adv. T.A. Shaji, Director General of Prosecution, Kerala, was the Chief Guest at the function. Prizes were distributed to the winners on the occasion. Dr Grinson George, Director of ICAR-CMFRI presided over the function.

The campaign was coordinated by a team led by Dr J Jayasankar, Vigilance Officer of the Institute.
