Shri Sanjay Kumar Pathak, Joint Secretary (Finance), ICAR inaugurates five-day Training Programme (Module-II) for newly recruited ICAR Assistants at ICAR-CMFRI

A five-day training programme (Module-II) designed for newly recruited Assistants of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) commenced on 21st April 2025 at ICAR-Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute (CMFRI), Kochi. The inaugural session was graced by Shri Sanjay Kumar Pathak, Joint Secretary (Finance), ICAR, who underscored the pivotal role of administrative personnel in supporting and advancing the research endeavours.

The training cohort comprises participants from eight ICAR institutes across the South Zone. The initiative aims to bolster their competencies in research facilitation, administrative proficiency and technological integration within Institutional frameworks.

In his address, Shri. Pathak highlighted the significance of a nuanced understanding of ongoing research projects, scientific requirements and the importance of timely delivery. He also emphasized the imperative to embrace and adeptly leverage emerging technologies to enhance productivity while fostering seamless synergy collaboration between scientific and administrative functions to optimize research output.

The programme was presided over by Dr. Grinson George, Director of ICAR-CMFRI, Kochi and Programme Director. Distinguished speakers at the event included Dr. George Ninan, Director of ICAR-Central Institute of Fisheries Technology (CIFT) and Programme Director;  Dr. P. Shinoj, SIC, HRD Cell of ICAR-CMFRI, Kochi; Shri. Hareesh Nair, Chief Administrative Officer (Sr. Grade) of ICAR-CMFRI, Kochi & Programme Coordinator; Shri Mahesh B Khubdikar, Chief Administrative Officer of ICAR-CIFT, Kochi & Programme Coordinator and Shri Sreekumaran K. S. ,Senior Finance & Accounts Officer, ICAR-CMFRI.

The training program features interactive sessions and deliberations on best practices in rules & regulations of administration and finance and fostering a culture of excellence and innovation in institutional management.
