Hindi Workshop “Effective Use of Hindi in Official Work and Importance of the Hindi Language”
As part of the Hindi Pakhwada Celebrations, the Karwar Regional Station of ICAR-CMFRI organized a Hindi workshop on “Effective Use of Hindi in Official Work and Importance of the Hindi Language” for the staff members of the Station. The workshop was organized with the objective of promoting the use of Hindi in day-to-day official work and enhancing the Hindi language, drafting and communication skills of the staff members. The workshop was held from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Dr. Geeta H. Talwar, Assistant Professor (Hindi), Government Arts and Science College, Karwar, was invited as the Guest Speaker and resource person. She delivered an informative and practical session on the effective use of Hindi in official work and explained the importance of Hindi as a language of official communication.
The workshop was chaired by Dr. Mahesh V., Senior Scientist and Scientist-in-Charge (In-charge). The programme was attended by the Scientists, Technical staff, administrative staff and Multitasking staff of the Karwar Regional Station. The staff members participated actively and showed keen interest in learning practical methods for effective use of Hindi in their routine official work. During the technical session, Dr. Geeta H. Talwar explained in detail the effective use of Hindi in official work and the importance of Hindi language. She emphasized that official communication should be simple, clear, precise, purposeful and easily understandable. She explained that the primary objective of official Hindi is to communicate the intended message accurately and effectively to the concerned person or office. The speaker explained different types of letters, particularly official letters, legal letters and business-oriented letters, and discussed their respective purposes, structures, language and styles. She explained that the drafting style should be selected according to the purpose and nature of the letter.
Dr. Talwar explained how regular and practical Hindi workshops can help improve the Hindi language proficiency, vocabulary, sentence formation, drafting skills and confidence of employees. She suggested that need-based and practical workshops should be organized on topics such as noting and drafting, official correspondence, preparation of reports and circulars, sentence formation, Hindi terminology, translation and practical Hindi communication in office work. The Hindi workshop organized as part of the Hindi Pakhwada Celebrations was informative, interactive and practically useful for the staff members of the Karwar Regional Station. It provided valuable guidance on the effective use of Hindi in official work and enhanced awareness about the importance of using simple, precise and clear language in official communication. Dr. Praveen Dube, Technical Officer and Hindi Officer, conducted the proceedings of the workshop and coordinated the programme. Dr. Tanveer Hussain, Scientist, proposed the vote of thanks and expressed sincere gratitude to the Guest Speaker, Chairperson and all the staff members for their valuable participation and cooperation in making the workshop successful.
