Focus of Research :
- Taxonomy,Fish biology, Fish Population Dynamics, Stock Assessment
- Elasmobranch fisheries, biodiversity and conservation
- Socioeconomics of marine fisheries
Background :
I have done my masters in fisheries resource management in 2010 during which I have worked on image analysis based stock identification protocols. I have completed my PhD. from ICAR-CIFE, Mumbai in 2016 on fishery, biology and population dynamics of two sharks species. Currently I am working on Finfish biology and it population dynamics, including elasmobranchs as well as resolving the management strategy for the sustainable exploitation of these resources. I am also involved in studying the socioeconomics of marine fisheries sector. My research not only seeks to protect vulnerable marine species but also to empower coastal communities, advocating for sustainability as a shared responsibility between science, policy, and practice.
Education :
- PhD Since 2010 (Central institute of fisheries education, Versova, Mumbai)
- MSc 2010 (Central institute of fisheries education, Versova, Mumbai)
- BSc 2008 (Odisha university of agriculture and technology, Bhubaneswar)
