Background :
I joined ARS (Fish Genetics & Breeding) on 01 st July 2015. Before joining ARS, I worked as Inspector of Fisheries in Tamil Nadu State Fisheries Department (2009-2014). Then, I joined as an Assistant Professor at the Tamil Nadu Fisheries University (2014-2015) and was involved in establishing the Shrimp Brood Bank at Kanyakumari District (NADP). I am pursuing my PhD at the Institute of Marine Research (IMR) and the University of Bergen (UiB) under ICAR-Netaji Subhas International Fellowship and my PhD research focused on bone health in Salmonids.

Current Research Projects :
1. Captive breeding and seed production of important finfishes, shellfishes, and other invertebrates for sustainable mariculture, fisheries enhancement, and conservation.
2. Sea ranching of Green tiger shrimp (Penaeus semisulcatus) post-larvae (PL) in Palk Bay and Gulf of Mannar, Tamil Nadu, for sustainable shrimp production.
3. Development of seed production technology for the high value marine food fish the Giant Trevally, Caranx ignobilis to enhance the seafood production and nutritional security.
4. Genetic and genomic tools for sustainable marine fisheries, mariculture and conservation.
