Background :

I joined as a Scientist in the year 1999 at CHES, Bhubaneswar (ICAR-IIHR, Bengaluru) and later moved to IIHR Bengaluru (HQ) in 2005. Over the years, I have worked in various capacities at IIHR, contributing significantly to the demonstration and popularization of horticultural technologies while facilitating various farmers' organizations. From 2014 to 2022, I served as a Senior Scientist and Head of ICAR-KVK, Kodagu under ICAR-IIHR, Bengaluru. During this tenure, I played a crucial role in initiatives aimed at doubling farmers' income in Kodagu district. I was actively involved in demonstrating various technologies and ensuring their successful adoption by farmers. Additionally, I was instrumental in establishing key laboratories such as the Mushroom Lab and the Arka Microbial Consortia Lab. One of my significant contributions was nurturing the Puthari Farmers Producer Company Ltd., providing vital support to strengthen farmer-led organizations in Kodagu. My efforts have consistently been directed towards improving agricultural productivity and sustainability through innovative technological interventions.

Currently, I am working at ICAR-CMFRI, Mariculture Division, since July 2022. My focus areas include nurturing a Fish Farmers Producer Organization (FFPO) involving active cage culture farmers from Ernakulam district. Additionally, I am engaged in studying the impact analysis of various mariculture technologies, assessing their effectiveness and scalability for enhancing sustainable fisheries and coastal livelihoods. My expertise and continued efforts are dedicated to bridging the gap between research innovations and practical applications, thereby empowering farmers and fostering agricultural and maricultural advancements.
