Focus of Research :
- Sustainability and Management of Indian Marine Fisheries
- Fish taxonomy and biology
- Ecosystem based fisheries management
- Fish breeding
Background :
I joined the Agricultural Research Service in 2018 after completing the 108th FOCARS at the National Academy of Agricultural Research Management (NAARM), Hyderabad, and was posted to the ICAR–Central Island Agricultural Research Institute (CIARI), Port Blair, in October 2018. In March 2022, I moved to the Minicoy Regional Station of CIARI, Union Territory of Lakshadweep, where I continued my research and professional activities in island agriculture and fisheries. In October 2025, I joined the Vizhinjam Regional Centre of the ICAR–Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute (CMFRI), Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. At present, my research focuses on the taxonomy, fisheries biology, stock assessment, craft and gear technology, and breeding of demersal and pelagic fishes, with particular emphasis on the fisheries resources of the southern Indian coast.
Additionally, I have contributed to the sustainable fisheries and culture in islands, mud crab fattening and integrated farming model in islands.
