CMFRI organised a lecture on Legal Aspects of Cyber Space as a part of Vigilance Awareness Campaign
As part of the Vigilance Awareness Campaign (16th August to 15th November 2024), CMFRI hosted a lecture on Legal Aspects of Cyber Space to emphasize integrity and vigilance in digital environments, featuring Adv. Shanmugham D. Jayan, an Advocate at the High Court of Kerala and Visiting Faculty at NUALS, Kochi. The event opened with ICAR and CMFRI songs, followed by a welcome address from Dr. J. Jayasankar, CMFRI Vigilance Officer, who stressed the importance of vigilance in the digital age. Dr. Eldho Varghese introduced Adv. Jayan, who delivered a compelling lecture on cyber law, focusing on regulatory measures, data protection, and the legal complexities of cyber threats, underscoring the urgent need for cybersecurity awareness and literacy. Afterward, Dr. V.V.R. Suresh, Acting Director of CMFRI, felicitated Adv. Jayan, and an interactive session allowed participants to engage on cyber vigilance issues. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Shri Hareesh Nair, CAO (SG), and the National Anthem, inspiring a collective commitment to cybersecurity.
