Focus of Research :
- Crustacean fisheries, Population dynamics, stock assessment and fisheries resource management
- Impact of climate change on marine fisheries
- Aquatic animal health management
- Mariculture
Background :
I have done my masters in fish pathology and microbiology in 2008 during which I have worked on cytokine stimulation study in one of the widely cultured Indian major carps (IMC) i.e. Labeo rohita. Since 2009, I am working in CMFRI on crustacean fisheries related studies. I am working to understand crustacean biology and it population dynamics as well as resolving the management strategy for the sustainable exploitation of this resource. I am also involved in assessing the climate change impact on marine fisheries and its mitigation aspects. Presently, I am pursuing my Ph.D. on probiotic study to understand its beneficial effects in crustacean model.
Education :
- PhD Since 2008 (Central institute of fisheries education, Versova, Mumbai)
- MSc 2008 (Central institute of fisheries education, Versova, Mumbai)
- BSc 2006 (Central institute of fisheries education, Versova, Mumbai)
