  • Ornamental fish nutrition

I am working in CMFRI since 1990 on aquaculture Nutrition.   After a brief stint with the Department of Dairy Development, Govt. of Kerala for 5 years where I served as a resource person in dairy cattle nutrition; I moved to ICAR in 1989.  Initial work was on shrimp nutrition my Ph.D. work is also in shrimp. After 2000 the focus was on food fish nutrition and ornamental fish nutrition.  Carrying out several evaluations, an ornamental fish feed named `Varna’ has been developed and patented. Food fish feed are evaluated on farm for their efficacy and propensity to replace trash fish.  Live feed is another area where our team has developed a cost effective enrichment emulsion.
