CMFRI and Space Applications Centre (SAC) of the ISRO signed MoU

Climate Resilient Products

NICRA-CMFRI developed various innovative commercially valuable climate resilient products.

Formulated pellet feed for Pearl Spot, Etroplus Surratensis larvae and juveniles developed under CADALMINTM brand in the trade name - Pearl Plus for feeding Pearl Spot during Pokkali integrated farming.

Feed is of low cost and could be used for Integrated Multi Trophic Aquaculture (IMTA)
Biofuel production from seaweeds (Kappaphycus alvarezii and Gracillaria corticata)

Bio-char production from aquatic vegetation (seaweeds and water hyacinth) was done and its application as soil mixture and as fish feed resulted in enhanced growth of Pokkali as well as tilapia fish.
